Collect the same fields for every candidate
Start a three-column sheet, one candidate per column. Record the full product name and exact SKU, not just the brand or family. Then write native thermal detector dimensions, pixel pitch, lens focal length, horizontal field of view, base optical magnification, NETD with conditions, refresh rate, weight, battery format, warranty and accessory list.
Mark unknowns honestly
Retailers do not always display every technical detail. If a number cannot be confirmed from a current manufacturer specification, mark it “unknown” instead of filling the blank with a neighboring variant's figure. This is especially important in families that share a visual design across several sensors.
Separate technical comparison from pricing
Prices, stock, coupons and shipping conditions change frequently. Record the date and destination of any listing price and check the checkout total at the merchant. A price shown on an affiliate or comparison site is not a promise of availability.
Use the right evidence
Prefer manufacturer PDFs for official specifications, independent video comparisons for observed image behavior and current retailer pages for availability. In-person testing can be helpful but should be described as a firsthand impression rather than universal scientific proof. Avoid rankings based solely on referral commissions.
This site's catalog is a starting point for that process. It is not a substitute for product testing, legal advice or manufacturer documentation.
